Job Description:
This Hardware Engineering position will perform mechanical design and documentation of Antennas, RF Sensors, and supporting Electronics and Sub-systems. The mechanical engineer is expected to follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure that overall design goals are met. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for supporting technical solutions to a wide range of problems. The successful candidate will work within a team, responsible for definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, connector selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, and overseeing electrical layout and the technical data package which will require familiarity with CAD and drawing standards. The mechanical engineer will also work under appropriate direction and supervision, while exercising some latitude in choosing the technical objectives of the assignment. The position will require frequent interaction with the IPTL, PM, and external personnel. Periodic travel may be required. Security Clearance & Other Requirements:
The successful candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. As a Defense Contractor, Raytheon Technologies has specific programs which require a certain level of Security Clearance and Special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the Interim Secret Security Clearance needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Security Clearance. This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate Government Agency for non-U.S. persons. Required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a mechanical design or related field. Expertise with PTC CREO Parametric or other CAD design tools Expertise in Mechanical CAD design and electronic design Knowledge and understanding of materials or fabrication methods Expertise and experience with GD&T principles for design, documentation and fabrication Fundamental knowledge and understanding of statistical concepts and how to apply them to development and production processes Knowledge and understanding of engineering and scientific methods and tools to characterize behavior of products and processes (laboratory experience preferred) Knowledge of mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings Ability to draft communications, create and deliver presentations Experience in the support of design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to travel locally between sites and some remote travel Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in multiple discipline integrated product development team environments Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as a team member Positive attitude and ability to be adaptable to varying assignments Ability to obtain a Secret clearance U.S. Citizenship is required as this position requires a U.S. Security Clearance Required Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
